Datasync RMS was designed differently from traditional POS systems. You don't have to wait for a salesperson, schedule an onboarding appointment, or purchase a pile of proprietary hardware before you can begin.
Create your account, configure your business, download the Windows application and start setting up your stores when you're ready. If you want help, we're here. If you'd rather do it yourself, that's fine too.
Many POS systems begin with a sales process, an implementation appointment and someone else deciding when your system gets configured. Datasync RMS gives you another option.
Your tenant, stores and most business settings can be configured directly from the Datasync RMS website or from the Windows application.
Self-service doesn't mean you're on your own. Call us when you need help and we'll walk through the setup with you.
Configure shared business rules once while still keeping store-specific settings where they belong.
You don't have to configure every feature before you ring your first sale. Start with the pieces your business needs and come back to the rest later.
Sign up here on the website or through the Datasync RMS Windows application.
The username and password you create become your Tenant Administrator account. That account can sign in to both the website and the POS application and has administrative access throughout your organization.
For multi-store businesses, the web setup is particularly useful. Create your locations before installing the POS computers.
When Datasync RMS is installed at a store, simply attach that computer to the store it belongs to. You can also create or select the store directly from the desktop setup wizard.
Datasync RMS uses standardized inventory across your organization while keeping FIFO batch quantities store-specific.
Start by choosing the industry template closest to your business. Templates provide a starting structure for categories, subcategories and product attributes.
Templates are only the starting point. You can add, edit or remove categories, subcategories and attributes to match the way your business actually operates.
The work is done once at the tenant level so every store can use the same inventory structure.
Create the tax rates your business uses and apply them to each store individually. This allows stores in different tax jurisdictions to use the correct rates.
Once a tax is created, it can easily be reused at other stores. You can also configure category-level and individual product tax exemptions where needed.
Set whether returns are accepted, the return window and the message printed on customer receipts.
This is generally configured once for the entire organization.
Track how a transaction was sold, such as In Store, Delivery or Ecommerce.
Optional channel fees can also be configured.
Create discounts such as employee, military, student or other programs used by your business.
Datasync RMS can evaluate eligible discounts during checkout.
Cash and manual credit card payments are available without requiring an integrated processor.
You can also create custom payment types for the other ways your business accepts payment.
Some payment methods are shared across your organization while processor credentials and terminal assignments may be configured by store or by POS terminal.
Datasync RMS provides the integration framework, but we do not require you to process through a Datasync-owned merchant account. Your processing relationship remains directly with your payment provider.
If Square approves your business for processing, you can use Datasync RMS with a supported Square Terminal.
For the PaymentCloud integration, tell your PaymentCloud representative that you need an account provisioned with the NMI payment gateway for integrated customer-present transactions.
Already have a processor you like? You do not have to change it just to use Datasync RMS.
In manual mode, Datasync RMS calculates the amount due and tells the cashier the amount to enter into the external credit-card terminal.
Once the payment terminal approves the transaction, the cashier confirms it in Datasync RMS and the sale is recorded.
Most of these settings can be completed when you first set up the system or later as you begin using additional features.
Use the provided starting-cash templates or create your own denomination combinations for new drawers.
Configure the physical tills used in your stores and assign their starting cash templates.
Connect a second HDMI or USB-C display to show transaction details, customer loyalty, messages and optional QR codes.
Create employees manually or use the employee onboarding process to let staff establish their account from an assigned role or token.
Assign printers locally by task, including receipt printers, UPC/QR label printers and other label formats used by your business.
Use your own SMTP configuration or choose a managed email option for reports, loyalty communication and system emails.
Most of your business configuration can be prepared online, but each POS computer still needs its local setup.
During the final desktop setup, Datasync RMS configures the local components required by the hybrid POS system, including the local SQL environment used by the application.
That local system works together with Datasync RMS cloud services, allowing the POS to operate locally while synchronizing business data with the cloud.
Create your account and begin setting up Datasync RMS today. Do it yourself, call us when you need help, or use a combination of both.
